On the diode side, the number of bars and how they're cooled is the whole story. Our DL-07 runs at 808nm with sapphire contact cooling over a closed water loop, pulse width adjustable from 5 to 200 ms, and a repetition rate up to 10 Hz. Those specs tell you it's built for gliding, not stamping, and the cooling loop is what lets a tech keep the handpiece moving. CO2 tube type: the clearest cost split in the catalogue
Fractional CO2 is where buyers get the sharpest lesson in cost drivers. Our device documentation starts by contrasting RF-excited tubes with glass tubes. RF-excited tubes hold energy stable over a long session; glass tubes drop off from the beginning. Focal spot size and density are well distributed on an RF tube, less even on glass. Nd:YAG and Q-switched platforms

Registration, local electrical approval, laser safety officer training and room classification are buyer-side cost lines. One cost that's easy to overlook: the Laser Safety Officer. ANSI standards require the institution using laser devices to appoint an LSO who manages the laser safety program. That's a trained person, possibly part-time, with authority to control laser hazards. Budget for the training. Room classification and eyewear follow from it.

If one quote bundles training and spares and the other doesn't, add the missing items to the bare quote at market rates. You'll often find the gap closes.
